REVIEW MATERI SEMESTER 2

Materi pada semester 2 diawali dengan penjelasan dasar mengenai Microsoft Excel dan beberapa rumus-rumus yang digunakan.

Rumus pertama adalah VLOOKUP yang merupakan salah satu dari fungsi pencarian atau referensi saat kita perlu menemukan berbagai hal dalam tabel menurut baris. Kemudian untuk latihannya kita menggunakan data dari usaha transportasi bis, dan berbagai jenis data yang lainnya.

Rumus dasar VLOOKUP yaitu :
=VLOOKUP(lookup_value;table_array;col_index_num;[range_lookup])

Dalam pengaplikasian rumus VLOOKUP kita juga mempelajari penggunaan rumus MIN, MAX, AVERAGE, TRUE, dan FALSE. Selain VLOOKUP kita juga mempelajari rumus HLOOKUP.

Kemudian pada tanggal 9 Februari, kita diminta untuk membuat tulisan atau artikel sebanyak 1000 kata. Kita diberi kebebasan untuk memilih antara menulis sebuah review film atau menceritakan tentang diri kita sendiri, dan pada waktu itu saya memilih untuk menulis tentang diri saya.

Kembali lagi ke materi excel, selain mempelajari rumus VLOOKUP dan HLOOKUP kita juga mempelajari rumus IF. Dalam latihannya kita menggunakan data hasil ujian untuk menentukan apakah murid-murid tersebut lulus atau tidak berdasarkan persyaratan penilaian.

Setelah itu, pada tanggal 9 Maret kita diminta untuk menonton sebuah film pendek berdurasi sekitar 26 menit berudul SIX SHOOTER. Setelah menonton film pendek tersebut kita diminta untuk membuat reviewnya dan membuat postingan di blog tentang review film tersebut.

Kemudian pada tanggal 16 Maret, kita diperintahkan untuk membuat sebuah artikel tentang technology skills yang dapat membawa keuntungan untuk diri kita dan kemudian mempostingnya dalam blog kita masing-masing.

Pada tanggal 23 Maret dilaksanakan Ujian Tengah Semester, namun pada saat itu dosen yang ditugaskan memberi tahu tugas pengganti sebagai UTS telat menginfokan sehingga waktu kita telah terpotong 30 menit untuk mengerjakan tugas tersebut. Tugas untuk UTS ada 2 macam, yaitu membuat artikel tentang destinasi liburan favorit kita dan mengerjakan soal yang berhubungan dengan materi excel.

Beberapa minggu setelah UTS, kita mempelajari materi mengenai photoshop. Materi yang disampaikan yaitu tentang pengetahuan dasar penggunaan tools-tools yang ada di photoshop, Kemudian kita juga mempelajari cara untuk mengganti background suatu foto menggunakan tools seperti magic wand, dan beberapa brush tool.

Setelah materi dasar photoshop, kita diminta untuk presentasi sebagaimana jika kita menjadi sebuah agen tour and travel.. Sehingga dalam presentasi tersebut kita diminta untuk menjelaskan sebuah destinasi wisata, serta akomodasinya dan tips dan trick dalam berwisata.

ART SPACES

1. Affandi Museum (Jl. Laksda Adisucipto 167, Yogyakarta 55281, Indonesia)

Affandi Museum is a place where we can see all part of Affandi's life as a painting maestro. At the bank of Gajah Wong River, Affandi used to live, work, and transform his knowledge and now he lives in his eternal home there.

The architecture of this museum is very unique. Affandi made the design by himself. The roof of the museum looks like banana leaves. It is because banana leaves was used by Affandi to protect his painting in the past, when he still sold his painting in the street. So, after he had had his own gallery, he wanted to use the value of banana leaves that protect his art works until now.

3 Main Galleries

The first gallery was personally opened by Affandi in 1962 and was inaugurated in 1974 contains some of his paintings from the early time of his work to the late time of his life. 

The second gallery was inaugurated in 1988. It exhibits some of Affandi’s painting that are purposely to be sold and several of his old sketches.

The last gallery exhibits the paintings by Affandi’s children and wife.

2. The ARK (Jl. Suryodiningratan, No. 36A, Suryodiningratan, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta 55141)

The Ark is one of the biggest contemporary art gallery in Indonesia. It was established by several Indonesian curators who had joint project to hold art exhibition. Before, it was located in Jakarta, but in 2013 it moved to Yogyakarta

Usually in one year they only hold 5 or 6 exhibitions and the duration for each exhibitions is four until six weeks. The artists who can hold an exhibition are selected by the curators. Since it is a contemporary art gallery it exhibits painting, installation video, drawing and photography.

3. Sangkring Art Spaces (Jl. Nitiprayan Rt 01/Rw 20 No.88, Ngestiharjo, Kasihan, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 55184, Indonesia)

Sangkring Art Space was established on 31 May 2007 by Putu Sutawijaya. It has 3 main buildings.

The first space is the front building which designed in International standard

The second space is Sangkring Art Project, it is located on the second floor. Event that is held in Sangkring Art Project is not always in form of art exhibition, but there are  also some events like art performance, art collaboration, art presentation, etc.

The third space is Bale Banjar, adapted from Balinese local spirit that was brought by Putu Wijaya, this room was built as public space for Sangkring Art Space.

TIPS!!

•You have to look for the exhibition that is going to be held at the time you are going to visit.

•You may ask for Yogyakarta Contemporary Art map at the art space that you will visit.

•Ask for recommendation about art exhibition that is currently held and where it takes place.

•You have to arrange time estimation after you got the information about the exhibition.

•You have to be able to read maps and understand the direction. And if you still feel lost you could ask some natives there because the location is inside village complex.

•If you ride your own vehicle, you have to make sure that you have enough fuel in your tank.

•For the place to stay, you may look for homestay around Dipanjahitan Street. Or if you want to stay in a place that near many tourist attraction, you can stay around Malioboro.

As we live in a modern era, where everything is now using technology to help our living, it's a must for us to master some of the technology skills. We know that there are a lot of technology skills in many field too, yet here I will suggest you 5 skills that could help your living if you master it.

1. Using an Email
      Email is an important thing for someone to have. Email gives us a lot of advantages, the main purpose of email is actually to deliver a message to someone through the internet. Besides that, there are another advantages that email could give, such as to make an account, we need an email to register, even applying for a job now requires you to have an email so that you could communicate with your boss or your client through the email without the need of meeting them directly.

2. Operating Microsoft Office

      Microsoft office is a tool that is commonly used in school, workplace, and many more field. Microsoft office has several tools, which are Microsoft Words, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft OneNote, and Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft office is important to learn because 90% of companies in the world are using it to manage their data, so it will help you to look for a job if you have a good skills on operating Microsoft Office. While for students, usually their teacher ask them to make an assignment and type it in a Ms. Words type of file, besides that the use of Ms. PowerPoint could help you when you are about to have a presentation, while Ms. Excel could help you if you have to manage an accounting data.

3. Operating Social Media

    Nowadays, social media plays a big role in our living. Social media could gives such a big impact to human all around the world. Through social media, we could spread news, sharing a lot of things, even now there are a lot of job fields which requires you to master on social media, so that they could have someone who could help them promote their business to the world. There are a lot of kind of social media, such as Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, Line, and many more.

4. Operating Graphic Design Software
     Lately, design is needed in every aspect of business or events. So, having the skills to operate graphic design software will absolutely give you many advantages. The advantages are you could join a company to work as their assistant designer, working as a freelance and if you master it you could open your own studio design. The example for the softwares are Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, etc.

5. Operating Editor Software
    Besides mastering graphic design software, mastering editor software also could give you many benefits. The editor software that I mean are like photo editor and video editor. By mastering on both of that skills, you could increase your creativity and you can help others to make a good video to pormotion, you also could be a movie editor and director.

Movie Review : Six Shooter (2004)

Six Shooter is an Ireland based movie. This movie was created by Martin McDonagh in 2004.

The plot of this movie is started by Mr. Donnelly who was at the hospital because he just got informed that his wife had passed away. After he had said his last goodbye to his wife, then he decided to take a train to come back home, yet in the train he got to sit on the opposite of a boy who used a lot of slang when he talked. Since he used a lot of slang he sounds so rude and he even interrupt other people business.

It was when he saw a man who was trying to hold his wife's hand and then the boy let out some words that offended the man. Then later it turned out that actually the man's wife was sad because of their kid had just passed away. When the man left to buy something on the back side of the train, the boy came to approach the man's wife. Then she showed her baby's photo to the boy, yet he said something that later hurt her heart. She then left her seat and going to the front side of the train, yet she fell and it made her baby's photo almost teared into two. Unknowingly, suddenly her presence had gone, and out of no where there was a blood stain on the window. This moment made everyone on the train panic and it made Mr. Donnelly pulled out the train's brake and later the train stopped on the nearest station.

Then the man--the husband of which the woman has passed away-- left the train, yet Mr. Donnelly kept continuing his journey in the train with the boy who still sit in front of him. But, when the train was bout to left the station, some station officer found out that actually the boy had a gun with him. However, Mr. Donnelly still hadn't noticed it. In the train, the boy told a story about the cow with trapped wind to Mr. Donnelly. Then later after he had finished his story and Mr. Donnelly was about to left the train, suddenly Mr. Donnelly noticed that there were a lot of police who had already waiting for them to shoot the boy.
Then the story end with the boy died and Mr. Donelly was trying to kill himself when he was arrived at his house using the boy's gun. He checked the gun's bullet and realize that there were still 4 bullets there so he decided to kill his wife's rabbit first, yet when he was about to shot himself right on his head the gun broke and it left him dumbfounded.

For me, the story is kind of confusing because I don't really get the point of the story and the moral of the story. Yet it was pretty fun to wait on how was the story gonna end. I'm not sure if this is worth to watch or maybe it's just me that couldn't really understand the story, so for me it's 6/10.
