1. Affandi Museum (Jl. Laksda
Adisucipto 167, Yogyakarta 55281, Indonesia)
Affandi Museum is a place where
we can see all part of Affandi's
life as a painting maestro. At the bank of Gajah Wong River, Affandi
used to live, work, and transform his knowledge and now he lives in his eternal
home there.
The architecture
of
this museum is very unique. Affandi made the design by himself. The roof of
the museum looks like banana leaves. It is because banana leaves was used by Affandi to
protect his painting in the past, when he still sold his painting in the
street. So, after he had had his own gallery, he wanted to use the value of
banana leaves that protect his art works until now.
3 Main Galleries
The first gallery was personally opened by Affandi in 1962 and was inaugurated in 1974 contains some of his paintings from the early time of his work to the late time of his life.
